HESPERIA – A 30-foot Ford box truck was reported to be on fire on the 15 freeway southbound near the Main Street onramp on Friday afternoon.
At around 4:07 p,M San Bernardino county firefighters arrive to find the truck, which had flames coming from the engine and cab area. The fire, per CHP incident logs, indicated that the fire was quickly moving toward the trailer. The driver was standing nearby and was uninjured and no other injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
The #2 and #3 lanes were closed on the southbound 15 freeway temporarily so that firefighters could fight the fire and debris could be cleared. The fire was extinguished just before 4:30 p.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
