BIG BEAR – Two motorcyclists were airlifted after they went off the side of the roadway on Highway 18 in the Cactus Flats area Sunday morning. At around 11:35 a.m. the collision was reported stating that both riders sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
The two required riders had to be lifted up to the roadway by Big Bear City Fire Department personnel to the waiting ambulance. Both patients were transported to Big Bear Airport to be airlifted to a trauma center for the treatment of major injuries. Initially, two air ambulance requests were made, but medics determined that both riders were able to be transported together in one air ambulance.
