SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Two Santa Monica residents were arrested for the possession illegal drugs worth over $47,000.
Santa Monica Police Department’s Narcotics Unit and Crime Impact Team served a search warrant on Wednesday, March 19, 2019, after receiving information about narcotics sales activity. When the search warrant was served, around 9 ounces of Fentanyl and around 2 ½ ounces of powdered cocaine. Police officials placed a street value of $40,000 on the Fentanyl and $7000 street value on the cocaine.
In addition to the drugs, authorities located $12,000 in cash and other indicators of drug sales. Shane Michael Spring, 36, and Sasha Carrillo, 33, were both arrested for possession of narcotics for the purpose of sales.
Detectives will be presenting the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
