ALTADENA – Over a dozen gunshots rung out in the normally quiet Altadena neighborhood on Tuesday night. An unrelated 27-year-old man and a 4-year-old boy were struck by the bullets, killing the child and injuring the man.
At around 10:30 p.m. as a small group of family and friends were out in the front of the home on the 300 block of Figueroa Drive the suspect vehicle drove by firing over a dozen shots toward the home. The man was visiting the home and the child lived in the home that was shot at.
The suspect was only described as a black man driving a black or dark-colored vehicle authorities said.
The man is receiving care at a local hospital and is expected to survive. It is unclear if the home was the intended target. There is no known motive at this time.
