VICTORVILLE – A juvenile was airlifted to a trauma center after being struck by a vehicle Thursday evening.
The hit-and-run vehicle versus pedestrian collision was reported at around 7:20 p.m. The 13-year-old boy was reported to be riding a bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle, possibly a white and tan minivan on Center Street near Lacy Street in the City of Victorville.
Upon arrival, Victorville station deputies and emergency medical personnel located the juvenile lying in the roadway suffering from major injuries, including major head trauma.
Victorville deputies made contact with the child’s family, who is believed to reside in the 16800 block of Tracy Street, approximately 1000’ from the incident location.
The minivan was last seen heading southbound on Center Street then southbound on Hesperia Road. A Sheriff’s helicopter was called in for an area search.
The child was transported to Victor Valley Global Medical Center to prepare to be airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center for the treatment his injuries.
