Oftentimes only bad news is reported regarding our men and women in law enforcement. The bad news in inevitable and will be reported because it is news, mostly because it is rare. Good deeds happen all day, every day making it something that is not always shared. Fortunately, grateful citizens sometimes share their experience, which in this case, is how this incident became known.
On the afternoon of July 6, 2019, California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officer Brasil was patrolling on the 15 freeway near Wild Wash Road when he noticed a vehicle on the right shoulder. The family of six had gotten a flat tire. When they got out to place the spare tire on, it was learned that the spare tire was flat. Officer Brasil packed most of the family in his patrol vehicle, while the others waited inside the vehicle. He drove the family members who were in the patrol vehicle to America’s Tire for a repair of their spare tire. Officer Brasil took them and their repaired spare tire back to the vehicle, where he assisted them in changing their tire.
“The family was forever grateful as you can tell by an Instagram photo they posted we later found,” CHP officials said. “We are a law enforcement agency, to protect life and property. We are also a public service in every way possible, and this is a perfect example.”
