VICTORVILLE – A 33-year-old Victorville transient was arrested on Monday after assaulting a Del Taco employee who asked him to leave the restaurant.
Duy Dac Ta walked into the Del Taco located at 12253 HESPERIA Road, just north of Bear Valley Road and went into the restroom. Ta remained in the restroom for around an hour, when an employee entered the restroom and asked him to leave the location. “He initially refused but a short time later exited and went outside of the business,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station Spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. “He gathered several small rocks and re-entered the restaurant. He proceeded to throw the rocks at the employee who had asked him to leave, hitting her in the head.”
The employee did not sustain any major injuries as a result of the attack. Ta was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon was booked into the High Desert Detention Center. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon.
