VICTORVILLE – A medical emergency led to quick action taken by Victorville deputies on Thursday afternoon.
At around 2:30 p.m. deputies responded to the report of a sedan stopped in the eastbound traffic lane on La Paz Drive just west of Valley Center Drive. “When they arrived, they located the female driver inside suffering from an unknown medical emergency,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station Spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. The deputy communicated with the female driver instructing her to open the door but she was not able to. The first deputy to arrive at the scene attempted to open all of the doors in order to assist the driver but the doors were locked.
The deputy finally after exhausting all other options, broke out the rear driver’s side window in order to render aid to the woman. Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly after and transported the woman to a local hospital for treatment of an undisclosed medical condition.
