VICTORVILLE – The City of Victorville is hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. The blood drive will be from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will be held at the Victorville City Hall located at 14343 Civic Drive in training rooms 1 and 2.
According to the Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood. The Red Cross estimates that over 1.69 million people are expected to be diagnosed with cancer this year, many of those needing blood, some daily during chemotherapy treatment. Approximately 38 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood, but less than 10 percent of them donate each year.
Those donating will receive a free Red Cross t-shirt while supplies last. Appointments can be made by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or at www.redcrossblood.org. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged.
