VICTORVILLE – Holiday shoppers are in luck because those who need a quick snack or shopping break will soon have a new option just in time for the holiday season.
Open! Open! Open! Victor Valley residents have secretly thought, and some have even verbally expressed since the August 2015 announcement of the opening of a Krispy Kreme Doughnuts in the City of Victorville.
The original opening dates for the 3,050 square foot location in the 15200 block of Civic Drive have been pushed forward due to minor construction and other delays. “Edison was the hold up for awhile, as the fires pulled a lot of their manpower and they just recently got power,” said General Manager Kathy Hunt. With construction now being in the final stages, the new projected opening date is Tuesday, December 6, 2016.
With their famous hot glazed donuts, free WiFi, 24-Hour drive thru, and delicious hot and cold beverages, it is no wonder why people are so excited. Hunt said that they will be serving coffee, hot chocolate, lattes, cappuccinos, flavored chillers, plus a great selection of bottled drinks. “We have a great customer appreciation rewards program and we want to involve the community with great fundraising opportunities,” said Hunt.
The new location will employ approximately 65 employees. Hunt told a 24/7 Headline News reporter that around 200 people have been interviewed and hiring will continue into November. “There are still banners on the fence to apply and they can drop a resume or application off at the location as soon as we get there,” added Hunt. “ We had a job fair that we had an overwhelming response so we have many applicants, but always welcome applications.”
Prior to this announcement, Victor Valley residents had to travel to Palmdale, Ontario, or the City of Industry to experience the hot fresh glazed Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
