VICTORVILLE – A young Victorville man along with a juvenile were arrested for the theft of rodeo arena panels stolen from Adelanto Stadium. In all, 50 rodeo arena panels, chutes, and gates were all stolen in recent months. The most recent theft occurred sometime between Monday, February 5, 2018, and Wednesday, February 7, 2018.
The following day after the discovery of the theft, deputies from the San Bernardino County Rural Crime Task Force, located information about the rodeo arena panels up for sale on the mobile phone app, “Offer Up”. The investigation led the deputies to the 14000 block of Estero Road in the City of Victorville. In the backyard of the home, they located some of the stolen panels.
In all, nine arena panels and two gate panels were located on the property. Deputies made contact with the suspects at the location and received information about the location of additional stolen panels on the same street. Deputies located nine additional panels, two gate panels and a loading chute for cattle.
The total value of the recovered property belonging to the City of Adelanto is estimated at $6,000. On Tuesday, February 20, 2018, Raphael Arias, 18, and the 16-year-old juvenile were arrested for the possession of stolen property.Arias was booked at the High Desert Detention Center in lieu of $25,000.00 bail. The juvenile will be booked at the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center.
