VICTORVILLE – A 28-year-old Victorville man was arrested for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend on Tuesday according to a Sheriff’s press release.
At around 11:50 a.m. deputies from the Victorville station responded to the 14000 block of Rockrose Street for the report of shots fired. When they approached the area they made contact with the victim near the intersection of Arlette and Kimberly Drives.
The 27-year-old woman told deputies that when she went to the suspect’s home to return some of his belongings. The two talked through the car window, while she remained inside of the car. The victim and suspect started to argue so she backed out of the driveway attempting to leave causing the suspect to shoot at her vehicle.
The victim was not injured, although at least one bullet hit her vehicle. Deputies made contact with the suspect, identified as Vincent McDonald and subsequently detained him for questioning. After being questioned at the Victorville Police Station, police obtained a search warrant for McDonald’s home.
Deputies located the weapon possibly used during the shooting and the suspect was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder. He is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail and is scheduled for an arraignment hearing at the Victorville Superior Court on Friday afternoon.
