VICTORVILLE – A 25-year-old Victorville man was arrested for threatening an apartment complex employee with a gun at the Newporter Apartments on Tuesday. At around 3:35 p.m. deputies from the Victorville station responded to the apartment complex located a 15251 Seneca Road for the report of a man with a gun.
When they arrived they learned that the suspect, Christian Ivan Vasquez-Lopez was involved in a verbal altercation at an apartment complex employee. “During the argument, the suspect challenged the victim to a physical fight but left the location before the argument escalated,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez in the news release. “Approximately 30 minutes later the suspect confronted the victim in the office of the complex.” Vasquez-Lopez this time had a handgun in his possession, and told the victim that he was going to kill him before he returned to his apartment home.
Deputies arrived a short time later, locating the suspect near the apartment office and took him into custody without further incident. The handgun was located inside of Vasquez-Lopez’ home and he was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for assault with a firearm and threatening crime with the intent to terrorize. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Thursday afternoon.
