VICTORVILLE – A Victorville man lost his life after being shot by an unknown suspect on Wednesday.
Authorities said that at around 12:15 p.m. they received a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the 12800 block of Boulder Creek Road. When deputies arrived, the victim, Armando Castillo, 37, was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound to to his abdomen. He was rushed to Desert Valley Hospital where he died at 1:23 a.m.
Homicide detectives responded to conduct an investigation and learned the shooting took place blocks away in the 13200 block of Soft Cloud Way. Authorities learned that Castillo’s friends drove him to the home of an acquaintance in the 12800 block of Boulder Creek Road before requesting medical aid. The motive for the shooting and the identity of the suspect remains unknown. A neighbor said that she believes that the incident had to do with recent drug transactions taking place at the home where the incident took place.
