VICTORVILLE – A Victorville man and woman were arrested for child abuse after their 1-year-old child tested positive for illegal drugs.
On Sunday, June 10, 2018, the toddler was rushed to the emergency room of a local hospital after having a seizure. The toddler received care upon arrival at the hospital and was later transported to Loma Linda Medical Center for additional care. The staff at Loma Linda Medical Center did blood work on the child to determine the cause of the seizure. The tests came back positive for illegal drugs.
Rebecca Landeros, 27, and Salvador Calvillo, 27, were arrested by Victorville deputies at Loma Linda Medical Center on Monday, June 11th at around 12:30 a.m. for child abuse. They are both being held at the West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $100,00 bail. Both were also found to be in violation of probation from an unrelated case. Landeros and Calvillo are scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon.
Three other minor children who lived in the home were taken into protective custody by Children and Family Services.
