VICTORVILLE – A 45-year-old Victorville woman was arrested for terrorist threats and resisting an executive officer for an incident on Tuesday evening.
At around 5:49 p.m. deputies from the Victorville station responded to the report of a disturbance on Center Street near 7th Street. A 56-year-old man was sitting in his truck on the side of the road answering a phone call. Darlene Jones, a 45-year-old transient was sitting on the curb nearby. She approached the victim with a brick in her hand and told him she would harm him if he did not leave. She threw the brick at the truck and continued to threaten the man. Deputies arrived and attempted to detain Jones, but she resisted, kicking one of the deputies several times. Deputies pepper sprayed Jones and took her into custody.
Neither victim; the deputy or man in his vehicle required medical attention as a result of the incident. Medical personnel did check the suspect at the scene and she was subsequently arrested. Jones was booked into the High Desert Detention Center where she is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Thursday afternoon for her arraignment hearing.
