AMADO, AZ. – A 22-year-old Tucson woman, who is a U.S. Citizen was arrested on Monday night after attempting to smuggle two Mexican nationals across the border. The woman was stopped by border patrol agents at the Nogales border at the Interstate 19 Immigration Checkpoint near Amado.
The primary agents referred the woman for the secondary inspection of her Ford Taurus. During the second inspection agents opened the trunk to find a 21 and 24-year-old man. The driver was arrested for Human Smuggling and the vehicle was seized. The two men who were determined to be Mexican Nationals were processed for immigration violations.
