VICTORVILLE – A 35-year-old Claremont woman was arrested for stealing a vehicle with a child inside on Tuesday afternoon. At around 3:33 p.m. a man flagged down a deputy in the 14300 block of Bear Valley Road. When the deputy stopped the man told him that this vehicle was stolen from the parking lot with his 5-year-old daughter inside.
The man told the deputy that he gave suspect Jessica Sandoval, an acquaintance a ride to the bank. While en route the victim stopped at another business. When he got out of the vehicle, Sandoval drove away with the child still inside the vehicle. She drove to the male victim’s home, where a family member was able to get the child out of the vehicle before Sandoval continued fleeing in the vehicle.
The vehicle and suspect were located near Green Tree Boulevard and Seventh Street. Sandoval was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and vehicle theft.
