ADELANTO – The woman killed in the Highway 395 traffic collision with a Stater Bros. semi-tractor trailer on Friday has been identified as 20-year-old Verricka Laresha Norwood, of Victorville.
Norwood, according to her co-workers was returning home from work at the time of the major head-on crash that claimed her life. Norwood at one point resided in Florida was most currently residing in the City of Victorville. The family of Norwood placed a memorial near the site of the collision, which the cause still remains under investigation.
Her cousin, Deonna Randle said in a Facebook post that Norwood recently moved in with her. “I always thought our bold souls would collide,” posted Randle. “Of course, I was wrong we loved each other too much to ever fight.”
The road was closed for several hours for the investigation performed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). The cause of the collision is expected to be released in the coming days. Meanwhile, a family is devastated by the sudden loss of their very young family member.
