APPLE VALLEY – The parents of Yucca Loma Elementary School students grew concerned when they received information that there was a lockdown at the school located at 21351 Yucca Loma Road in the Town of Apple Valley.
At around 3:02 p.m. on Thursday, September 15th the school was put on a precautionary lockdown due to police activity in the surrounding area.
The incident did not take place on campus, nor did it enter the campus at any time. The students and staff were secure indoors while the local law enforcement resolved the issue. The lockdown was lifted at 3:21 p.m. after law enforcement deemed it to be safe, school officials said.
“The safety of our students is our top priority, and we take all safety risks seriously,” AVUSD officials said in the Thursday afternoon news release. Anyone with questions or concerns can call Yucca Loma Elementary School at (760)247-2623.
