VICTORVILLE – Special operations were conducted in several high-traffic area in the City of Victorville leading to 140 citations. These operations were made possible by a special grant through the Edward Bryne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant. These operations focused on speed and red light violations.
The Red-Light Operation was done at the intersections of Palmdale Road and Amargosa Road, Hesperia Road and Nisqualli Road, Hesperia Road and Silica Drive, Hesperia Road and Bear Valley Road, Bear Valley Road and Mariposa Road, and Bear Valley Road and Industrial Boulevard. During a 5-day period in April and May. A total of 75 citations were issued to those who did not stop for red lights.
Speed being a factor in many traffic collisions was conducted following the red-light enforcement. The Speed Enforcement Operation was done on the highly traveled Air Expressway. This operation lasted for seven days and 65 citations were issued to those exceeding the speed limit.
“The Victorville Police Department is committed to making our roadways safe and will continue in our efforts educate and enforce traffic safety,” Victorville station officials said in the news release.
