APPLE VALLEY – An Apple Valley man was arrested after killing his wife on Saturday night. Authorities said that just before 10:00 p.m. Tom Robinson, 53, called 911 reporting that he shot and killed his wife. Robinson told dispatchers, per scanner traffic, that his wife was “going after their son” and he was unable to stop her so he shot her.
Deputies from the Apple Valley Station arrived at the home in the 13300 block of Applewood Road in the Town of Apple Valley where they found his wife, Rocio Martinez, 35, deceased. In the home, deputies located four children, ages 1, 4, 5, and 7 who were at the home at the time of the shooting. None of the children were physically harmed and all were taken into custody by the San Bernardino County’s Children & Family Services where they remain on Sunday evening.
Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division assumed the investigation. After being interviewed by homicide detectives, Robinson was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for P.C. 187(a) Murder.
