HESPERIA – A male and female, both Hesperia residents were arrested for burglary and vehicle theft on Sunday morning. At around 10:53 a.m. Hesperia Police responded to the report of a residential burglary in progress.
The reporting parties were the family of the resident whose home was being burglarized near Third Avenue and El Centro Streets. The reporting parties told dispatchers that the suspects were a male and a female. They also said that the male suspect threatened them with a knife prior to leaving the area in a vehicle.
The reporting party was able to provide the police with the license plate on the vehicle that the suspects left in. After running the license plate, deputies determined that the vehicle was reported stolen out of the Lancaster area. The vehicle was located parked at a Chevron gas station near Escondido and Ranchero Roads.
The suspects, later identified as 23-year-old Kyle Dillon Forsberg and 32-year-old Christie Marie Rocha fled on foot through a nearby field. After a long foot pursuit, both suspects were detained.
Forsberg was found to be recently released on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for a past burglary conviction. Through additional investigation, deputies were able to obtain a search warrant to search Forsberg’s residence and storage unit, both in Hesperia. While searching, property from at least five burglaries was location, which totaled over a $10,000 value, authorities said.
Some of the property has already been returned to the owners, while some are currently being matched up with other High Desert area police reports. Recent victims of burglaries are asked to please be patient while this information is gone through, since they will contact victims as the property is matched up to their case.
Both Rocha and Forsberg were booked into the High Desert Detention Center. Forsberg was booked on charges of Assault with a deadly weapon, Burglary, and Possession of stolen vehicle. Forsberg remains at the High Desert Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $75,000 bail and a no-bail hold for the PRCS Violation.
Rocha was booked for Assault with a deadly weapon, Burglary, Possession of a stolen vehicle and Bringing a controlled substance into a jail. Rocha is now being held at the West Valley Detention center in lieu of $75,000 bail.
Both are scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court for an arraignment hearing on Wednesday afternoon.
