BARSTOW – A 23-year-old Barstow man was arrested for attempted murder after deputies located him with blood all over his clothing and body following a stabbing on Tuesday evening.
At approximately 6:50 p.m.deputies from the Barstow station responded to a stabbing on the 35000 block of Maple Street. When they arrived they located the suspect, Christian Slater Van Dyke in the front yard of his home and the victim at a neighbor’s home. A knife that was believed to be used in the stabbing was also located at the scene officials said.
The male victim was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for the treatment of multiple stab wounds. Van Dyke, who authorities said had blood on his pants, hands and face was arrested for attempted murder. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. Van Dyke is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday afternoon.
