BEAUMONT – Beaumont Avenue was closed from the 10 freeway to 6th Street while firefighters battled a commercial structure fire Sunday morning.
The fire at the 15,000 square foot strip mall in the 400 block of East 6th Street was reported just before 6:00 a.m.
When firefighters arrived just minutes later they located a fire well-established in the attic space of the structure. Twenty-six firefighters from Cal Fire (San Bernardino and Riverside), Morongo Fire Department, and Riverside County Fire Department.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire at 7:35 a.m. No civilians were injured as a result of the fire and two firefighters were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
