VICTORVILLE, Ca. – A 91-year-old Victorville woman died in the hospital on Monday after being shot by deputies responding to her home on Saturday.
At around 9:30 a.m. dispatchers received a call reporting a possible intruder at the home of Betty Francois, located in the 17800 block of Sunburst Road in Spring Valley Lake. When they arrived they found Francois armed with a shotgun. According to the news release, Francois failed to drop the weapon when commanded to do so and was shot by deputies. She was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton. She remained hospitalized until Monday, January 11, 2021, when she succumbed to her injuries.
