A Second Arrest Made in 2005 Cold-Case Murder of Victorville Man

APPLE VALLEY – Nearly 12 years following the shooting murder of a Victorville man both suspects are now in custody authorities said.

On November 27, 2005, the body of Noel Cornelius, who was only 23-years-old at the time was found in the desert several miles southwest of Dale Evans Parkway off the 15 freeway in an unincorporated area of Apple Valley. The cause of death was determined to be gunshot wounds. Cornelius was found to be married to Rebekah Dawson at the time of his death. Rebekah had to brothers, Malachi Dawson and Isaac Dawson.

All evidence was re-examined and on September 11, 2017, Malachi, 32, of Chino Hills, was arrested for the murder of Noel and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Murder.

On August 17, 2017, Isaac Dawson was interviewed in Pennsylvania. The following day Michael Marshall was interviewed in Georgia. On October 11, 2017, Marshall was arrested for murder and booked into the Colquitt County Jail in Moultrie, Georgia.
