APPLE VALLEY, Ca. – Two 19-year-old Apple Valley men were arrested for the murder of another Apple Valley man.

On June 29, 2021, deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to a traffic collision. When they arrived they found that a vehicle had crashed into a building in the 13600 block of Rancherias Road in the Town of Apple Valley. Anthony Lozano, 20, was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and was learned to be suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a trauma center where he died as a result of his injuries on July 7, 2021.

Through investigation it was learned that Adrian Avery gave Earl Bowman a ride to Rancherias Road to meet with Lazano. During the meeting, for reasons that remain under investigation, Bowman shot Lozano once. Lozano drove away and crashed into the building. Bowman got back into Avery’s vehicle and the two fled the location. On Wednesday, August 21, 2021, Bowan and Avery were located and detained. Both men were interviewed and subsequently arrested for murder.  Bowman is currently being held at High Desert Detention Center. Avery is currently being held at West Valley Detention Center.

Anyone with information or anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Detective David Carpenter, Specialized Investigations Division at (909) 387-3589. Callers can remain anonymous and contact WeTip at 800-78CRIME or www.wetip.com.
