An Adelanto and Apple Valley man were arrested this week for the downloading and possessing child pornography authorities said.
Nicholas Benjamin Ray, 31, of Apple Valley and Israel Omar Avila, 18, of Adelanto were arrested on Tuesday, August 1st and Wednesday, August 2nd after authorities were made aware of the situation by Child Protective Services (CPS) and Adult Protective Services.
Additional information was received through a Cyber-Tipline Report indicating that Nicholas Benjamin Ray was uploading images of child pornography into his Gmail account. A search warrant was obtained for his residence on the 11200 block of Tujunga Drive in the Town of Apple Valley. The search warrant was served and executed on Tuesday at around 11:33 a.m. Ray was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Omar Avila was also arrested on unrelated charges following a Cyber-Tipline tip. Although the tip initially did not identify the suspect, authorities were able to identify Avila as the suspect downloading the pornographic images of children. On Wednesday, August 2nd of the Allah was arrested without incident and was booked into the High Desert Detention center and was later released on bail.
