Adelanto Man Accused of Rape No Longer in Custody

ADELANTO – A 42-year-old Adelanto man is no longer in custody following a rape arrest on Tuesday morning. At around 8:00 a.m. deputies received the report of a disturbance in the 11500 block of Chaparral Avenue in the City of Adelanto.

Deputies arrived at the home, where they located the victim who told them that she was dating the suspect, Rubin Desarden at one point, but was no longer seeing him. She continued to tell authorities that she went to Desarden’s home to retrieve her belongings and he took her cell phone and refused to let her leave. The victim told deputies that Desarden then raped her and left the home.

Desarden was located in the area and following an investigation, he was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for rape. Desarden was released on Thursday evening at around 10:00 p.m. and inmate records indicate that he was only detained.
