ADELANTO – A 21-year-old Lynwood man was arrested for robbing and assaulting an Adelanto man selling a Playstation 4.
On Saturday, September 8, 2018, at around 7:15 p.m. deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the report of a robbery near Bartlett Avenue and Bellflower street in the City of Adelanto. The incident occurred as the two 21-year-old men, who made contact on the buying and selling App “OfferUp” planned to meet to complete a transaction for a Playstation 4.
The suspect, Angel Moreno and the victim arrived at the agreed upon meeting place. The victim handed the suspect the game system and rather than paying the victim, Moreno pepper sprayed the victim and left with the Playstation. A witness followed the suspect to a mobile home park in the 11100 block of Bartlett Avenue in the City of Adelanto. “The witness made no attempt to contact Moreno, instead provided deputies with information to assist in apprehending him,” said Victor Valley Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Staci Parks. “Deputies searched the mobile home park and located Moreno hiding under the bed inside a mobile home belonging to one of his relatives.”
Moreno was arrested for robbery and assault with a caustic chemical. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center. Moreno is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
