HESPERIA – A woman, two children, and her boyfriend were able to narrowly escape injury after her ex-boyfriend shot toward her home last week.
On Tuesday, September 4, 2018, a woman parked her vehicle in front of her home in the 15100 block of Larch Street in the City of Hesperia. She noticed her ex-boyfriend, Charles Carr, 40, of Helendale, parked in front of her home. Carr exited the vehicle armed with a revolver. He fired rounds toward the home while the victim, her two children and her boyfriend were all outside of the home. The woman and her children retreated to the inside of the home and her boyfriend remained outside. No one was injured as a result of the shooting.
The Rancho Cucamonga K9 Unit, Deputy Girard and K9 Dare responded to the scene to assist in locating the suspect who had fled the scene. At 12:13 a.m. Carr was located in the backyard of a home on the 15600 block of Sultana Street. He was booked into jail for Attempted Murder, Shooting at an Inhabited Dwelling, and Child Cruelty.
