ADELANTO – On Wednesday, February 1, 2017, a teen and a friend who was walking home from school were approached by a 16-year-old male juvenile demanding the victim’s property on Wednesday authorities said. When the teen victim did not comply with the request from the perpetrator the teen was struck multiple times in the head. The teen victim fell to the ground and while on the ground the suspect kicked the victim in the head. The suspect fled the scene and the teen victim’s friend aided the victim home.
Once the victim arrived home the victim and witnesses reported the attempted robbery to authorities. A deputy from the Victor Valley Sherriff’s Station was dispatched to the area of Daisy Road and Joshua Road in the city of Adelanto. The suspect was identified by friends of the victim and arrested by Sheriff deputies. The suspect is described as a 16-year-old male since the suspect is a juvenile this is the only identification authorities are able to release. The suspect was transported and booked into the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center and charged with attempted robbery.
