ADELANTO, Calif. – The mother of a 5-month-old boy is behind bars for the suspected abuse of the small child.
On Tuesday, May 28, 2019, Chreoyn Verlexia Davis, 21, of Adelanto, took her infant son to Victor Valley Global Medical Center (VVGMC) in the City of Victorville for difficulty breathing. The doctor examined the baby and found numerous unexplained injuries. He was transported to Loma Linda Medical Center by helicopter for further treatment.
LLUMC Pediatricians located other injuries also and also said that the injuries were consistent with abuse. The baby remains hospitalized at LLUMC in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Through investigation it was determined that the 5-month-old child resides in Adelanto with his mother. The finding led to the subsequent arrest of Chreoyn Davis on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. She was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Willful Cruelty to a child. She is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. Davis is expected to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Thursday afternoon.
