ADELANTO – A 26-year-old Adelanto woman was arrested for a stabbing at an Adelanto apartment complex on Saturday night.
At around 8:15 p.m. deputies from the Victor Valley Station responded to a stabbing at an apartment complex located at 11246 Chaparral Avenue in the City of Adelanto. When deputies arrived they learned that Martika Lashawn Graves was involved in a verbal altercation when she refused to leave the home. The fight escalated, becoming physical and leading Grave’s to grab a kitchen knife and stabbing the male victim in the chest. Graves fled the location following the stabbing. The victim was transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
Deputies were called back to the scene just before 9:30 p.m. when the suspect returned to fight with the victim’s daughter. Graves was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Attempted Murder. She is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon.
