HESPERIA – A 27-year-old Adelanto man was arrested after deputies located him driving a stolen vehicle in a Jack in the Box drive-thru on Sunday evening.
At around 6:15 p.m. Hesperia station deputies responded to the Jack in the Box located at 12137 Main Street near Mariposa Road in response to a gray 2017 Toyota Camry recently reported stolen out of the City of Highland. “Deputies were alerted of a stolen vehicle in the area of Main Street and Mariposa Road,” said Hesperia Sheriff’s Station Spokeswoman Jaclyn Chambers. “Deputies conducted an area check and located the vehicle in the Jack In the Box drive-through.” Deputies initiated a felony traffic stop and Brian Vasquez was taken into custody without incident. It is unclear if Vasquez was able to place his order or consume his meal prior to the arrest.
Vasquez was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Vehicle Theft. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon.
