APPLE VALLEY, Ca. – Friends described the newlyweds as a happy couple, married only prior to an incident leaving the Apple Valley woman deceased and her husband behind bars.
On Saturday, October 5, 2019, just after 9:40 p.m. dispatchers received a report of a shooting at a home in the 16000 block of Rancherias in the Town of Apple Valley. When they arrived they found Heidi Vance, 53, inside the home, unresponsive and suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Heidi was pronounced dead at the scene. Also at the scene was Robert Vance, 51, who was detained without incident.
Homicide detectives responded to the home to conduct an investigation. Detectives determined that Robert and Heidi they were involved in an argument prior to the shooting. No other details are being released at this time.
Robert Vance was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for Murder.
