HESPERIA, Calif. – An estranged husband shot his wife, then himself on Monday in the 7500 block of Arrowhead Lake Road in the City of Hesperia.
On Monday, July 8, 2019, at around 5:15 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the report of a shooting inside of a vehicle. When deputies arrived they found the vehicle near Arrowhead Lake Road and Capella Avenue near Hesperia Lake with a man and a woman inside. The man and woman were identified as Carlos and Sharla Balderrama.
An investigation was conducted at the scene and detectives were able to learn that the suspect and victim had recently separated. It was also determined that Carlos Balderrama shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself. The handgun was located inside the vehicle and collected as evidence.
