APPLE VALLEY, Ca. – An Apple Valley woman was arrested in connection with the death of two of her infant children, one in 2017 and one in 2020.
Authorities began an investigation into the death of 2-month-old Natalie Brandon on March 3, 2020. Through investigation it was learned that Kristen Brandon, the baby’s 28-year-old mother, was under the influence at the time of the infant’s death. Due to her negligence in the care of the infant, she was smothered, according to Sheriff’s officials. It was also learned that in 2017, Aryana Harper, also two-months-old, had died as a result of negligent care while Kristen was intoxicated.
Homicide Detectives submitted their findings to the District Attorney’s office and they have filed murder charges in the death of Natalie and manslaughter for the death of Aryana. Kristen Brandon was booked into the West Valley Detention Center, where she is being held in lieu of $1500000 bail.
