APPLE VALLEY – A 16-year-old girl was arrested for the murder of a 79-year-old Apple Valley minister on Saturday afternoon authorities said. Just after 3:45 p.m. deputies from the Apple Valley station responded to a call in the 12700 block of Kiowa Road regarding a deceased man located inside an apartment.
When they arrived they located Rev. Willie Hunter deceased with multiple stab wounds. Homicide investigations responded to the scene to assume the investigation. Through investigation, it was learned that the victim and suspect knew each other. The teen suspect was at the victim’s home when an altercation occurred and she stabbed Hunter multiple times. The teen fled the location in Hunter’s vehicle.
On Sunday morning the authorities made contact with the suspect and conducted an interview. Upon completion of the interview, she was booked into the High Desert Juvenile Hall for Murder. Rev, Willie Hunter was a well-liked minister at United in Christ Baptist Church in the Town of Apple Valley.
