Apple Valley Woman Nearly Plummets Off of an Unmarked Drop Behind Tire Shop

APPLE VALLEY – An Apple Valley woman is grateful for her and her daughter to be home and safe  after a very frightening situation Saturday morning.

Anna Toner was on her way to a hair appointment for her daughter, Hannah at around 9:00 a.m. The appointment was scheduled at the Colorworx Hair Designs, located at 18888 US Highway 18 in the Town of Apple Valley.  Toner said that she had trouble locating the salon and her GPS indicated that she had arrived at the salon, which was behind the Goodyear Tire Shop located at 18878 Tao Road.

Toner looked behind the tire shop to where it appeared that there was an alley. Planning to drive through the alley, to locate the salon, Toner slowly drove toward the area behind the shop. Suddenly, she felt passenger side tire go off of a drop behind the tire shop. ‘There was no way to tell it was not an alley until the tire fell,” said Anna Toner.  “I am so thankful I was going so slow that only one tire fell.” Toner quickly set her emergency brake and the exited the vehicle. She called AAA, who helped remove her vehicle from the dangerous position that it was in.
