SCOTTSDALE, AZ. – A Scottsdale, Arizona mother was arrested for leaving her 4-year-old daughter home alone while she went to the Entertainment District in south Scottsdale.
Maricopa Sheriff’s officials said that the child of 29-year-old Alexandra Rose Ciliento was left home alone on Saturday, September 27, 2018. At around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2018, the small child opened the apartment door and left her home. The small child knocked on the neighbor’s door and told the neighbor that her mother was not home. The concerned neighbor called authorities. Deputies from the Maricopa Sheriff’s Department were able to reach the child’s father by phone.
Cilento reportedly told authorities that she left home at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, locking the door behind her. In addition, she told authorities that she did not know that her daughter was able to open the locked door. She did not return until the following morning. Authorities notified the Department of Child Safety. Cilento was released from custody and is ordered to have no contact with her daughter.
