HESPERIA – Authorities are attempting to identify a sticky-fingered female suspect who stole the tip jar from Jersey Mike’s on Saturday.
At around 2:30 p.m. the female and her male companion entered the Jersey Mike’s located at 13255 Main Street in the City of Hesperia, The store employees were busy working when the woman, who did not purchase anything, grabbed the tip jar and exited the store.
A store employee, Kacey Abarca, said that the man and woman were clearly together because he walked in with her and ran out behind her. “I assume there was less than $20 in the jar,” said Abarca. A manager, who was working on a slicer, noticed the way that the two quickly exited the restaurant and became suspicious.
“He immediately looked where the tip jar was supposed to be and it was gone,” said Abarca. “He went outside and saw them taking off in a blue SUV.”
The incident was reported to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Hesperia station. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects should call the Hesperia Station at (760) 947-1500.
