VICTORVILLE, Calif. – Two have been identified in Hook Park shooting but authorities need help identifying any other suspects.
On July 18, 2019, at around 12:15 a.m., a disturbance was reported in the 15100 block of Pasture Road in the City of Victorville Deputies from the Victorville Station responded to the locations and broke up the confrontation. At around 1:03 p.m., several subjects from the previous disturbance met at Hook Park and began fighting. The fight escalated and authorities said that at least two of those involved brandished firearms and some shooting ensued.
“The victims of the shooting fled in a vehicle which was struck several times by gunfire,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station Spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. “The driver of the vehicle was struck by gunfire but was able to continue to drive away. While driving to a local hospital, the victims were involved in a traffic collision, with an unrelated vehicle, at Hook Blvd and Roy Rogers Drive. The victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment.”
Detectives were able to identify two of the suspects as Heather Chambers, 22, of San Bernardino, and Davante McConnell, 35, of Muscoy. Chambers was arrested on July 24, 2019 and booked at Central Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon. McConnell was arrested on July 29, 2019 and booked at Central Detention Center for attempted murder and conspiracy to commit a crime.
