RIVERSIDE – Riverside Police are attempting to identify a subject to be involved in a possible kidnapping late last month.
On Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at around 8:15 p.m., witnesses reported seeing a dark or silver van pull into the Starbucks parking lot in the 3700 block of Arlington Avenue in the City of Riverside. As it pulled into the parking lot, a man jumped out. The witnesses said that two other men were attempting to keep him in the van. The possible victim was attempting to free himself, but the other two men were able to get him back inside and flee the scene.
A follow-up investigation is being conducted and the person believed to be the victim was contacted by authorities.
The suspects in this investigation are described as Hispanic male adults who were in a late model silver minivan, possibly a Dodge or Chrysler. One of these suspects was caught on a surveillance video and described as having longer hair, beard, heavy build, and wearing a red shirt and dark pants.
This investigation is still ongoing and anyone with additional information is urged to contact Detective Brett Stennett at (951) 826-5388 or bstennett@riversideca.gov, or Detective Dave Riedeman at (951) 353-7104 or driedeman@riversideca.gov.
