YERMO, Calif. – Authorities are looking for three white men who robbed a stranded motorist at gunpoint on Sunday evening.
At around 5:45 p.m. the victim pulled his vehicle onto the shoulder of the road on Minneola Road and Calico Boulevard. The shoulder, which consisted of soft sand disabled the vehicle, which became st. He flagged down a tan GMC SUV, which was driving northbound on Minneola Road. The vehicle stopped and they told the victim that they would normally rob a stranded motorist but would not do that to him. They attempted to help him get his vehicle freed.
One of the suspect’s eventually went back to the vehicle and got a rifle out. He held the rifle to the victim and stole around $500. In addition, he stole a large bag of clothing. The suspect then fled heading northbound on Minneola Road.
The victim called 9-1-1 for assistance and Deputies from the Barstow Sheriff’s Station responded. Deputies conducted an area check for the suspects with negative results.
