VICTORVILLE – Authorities are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect involved in a hit-and-run traffic collision with a Victorville Sheriff’s deputy. At around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday the on-duty deputy was driving through the intersection of Mariposa and Nisqualli Road. As the deputy entered the intersection driving south on Mariposa Road, he was struck by the truck that ran the red light and traveled west on Nisqualli Road. The dark-colored or black 4-door Chevrolet Silverado did not stop and entered the northbound I-15 freeway.
The driver remains at large, despite a search that was conducted of the area. The deputy was treated at the hospital and later released. The pick-up truck is described as a late model, 4-door, Chevrolet Silverado, black or dark colored with extensive damage to the front passenger side area.
