Authorities Need Help to ID Phelan Circle K Newport Smoking Bandit

PHELAN – The Circle K located in the 7600 block of CA-138 in Phelan are asking for the public’s help to identify a thief who stole approximately $4300 worth of Newport brand cigarettes from the store. Store employees said that the incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016. The cigarettes were on a delivery truck that was delivering product to the store.

The Black male adult pictured grabbed two boxes with 60 cartons total and fled the scene in a white Honda. There was a second male in the vehicle according to witnesses. The direction of travel is unknown at this time. The suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants, and white tennis shoes with two dark-colored stripes on the side; possibly Adidas.
