HESPERIA, CA, An deputy-involved shooting occurred on early Tuesday morning after a Hesperia man rammed into a patrol vehicle.
At around 2:38 a.m., deputies attempted to make contact with the occupants inside a suspicious vehicle in the Holiday Inn parking lot, located at 9750 Key Pointe Drive. Travis Brown, 29, who was driving the vehicle was asked to step out of the vehicle. Rather than following commands, Brown started the car and accelerated through the parking lot. Brown began driving through the parking lot toward patrol vehicles, ramming into one of them and striking another private vehicle. The deputy fired one round toward the vehicle and Brown fled the parking lot and into the desert area nearby. The vehicle was quickly disabled after crashing.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Inside Brown’s vehicle detectives found a loaded handgun and a silencer. An arrest warrant was obtained for ssault on an Officer, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Silencer. Brown was also found to be on PRCS felony probation and has failed to report to probation since October 18, 2019. A pending absconding warrant was also submitted to the courts.
