TWENTYNINE PALMS – Authorities are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the suspect(s) involved in a double homicide in Twentynine Palms on Friday. At around 12:03 a.m. deputies responded to the 7700 block of Bedouin Avenue.
When they arrived they found Christy McKissic, 32, and Renee Metcalf, 62, both deceased inside the home from multiple gunshot wounds. An unharmed 10-year-old child was also located inside of the home. Homicide investigators arrived at the scene to assume the investigation.
At around 2:26 a.m. deputies attempted to stop a vehicle that was reported stolen on Thursday, March 23, 2017, during a home invasion robbery at a home in the 6400 block of Goleta Avenue in Yucca Valley. The vehicle was traveling west on Twentynine Palms Highway near Midway Road. The driver failed to yield and fled the scene at speeds near 100 miles per hour into Yucca Valley.
The vehicle was eventually stopped when spike strips were deployed by deputies and the CHP officers. The driver, identified as Terrence Kennard Hodges, 42, of Wonder Valley was taken into custody without further incident. Hodges was positively identified as the suspect involved in the home invasion robbery and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail. Authorities said that although rumors indicated that Hodges was related to the murder investigation that was learned to not be the case.
Evidence was collected at the scene, several interviewed numerous people, including Hodges. No additional information is available for release at this time.
